Cards markets are quietly one of the most useful angles in football betting. They move on their own logic, largely independent of the result, which means a single fixture can offer value on the cards line even when the match-result and total-goals prices look flat. Our tables show yellow and red card counts plus booking points per game for every team across 27 leagues, with the Betfred scoring of 10 points per yellow and 25 points per red so the numbers line up directly with the bookmaker's settled markets.
Read the booking-points column first. A side averaging 22 or more booking points per game is consistently picking up two yellows and the odd red, usually a combination of an aggressive press, a settled physical centre-back and a midfielder who likes to commit tactical fouls. Anything below 14 is a clean, technical side or, more often, one whose referee selection has run hot with whistle-shy officials. The full yellow and red breakdown beside the totals lets you separate the genuinely physical teams from the unlucky ones.
Always cross-check the named referee for the fixture. Two of the same physical sides can produce very different card counts depending on who is officiating, which is why we publish a full Referee Stats page alongside this one. For ranked match suggestions on the cards line, the Cards Potential page surfaces upcoming fixtures by combined booking-point projection.
