Cookie Policy

Written by Bela B., editor at PicksIQ
This page lists every cookie PicksIQ may set on your device, what it does, and how long it lives. It complements our Privacy Policy and is published in line with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Some cookies are essential for the site to function, others are optional and used for analytics or advertising. We do not set any optional cookies until you actively consent via our cookie banner.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for PicksIQ to work. They cannot be switched off in our consent banner because the site would not function without them. They do not store personal data beyond what is needed to keep you signed in and protect form submissions.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| picksiq_session | PicksIQ | Keeps you signed in. Required to access your account, balance, bets, and notifications. | 30 days (sliding) |
| picksiq_consent | PicksIQ | Remembers your cookie banner choice so we do not ask again on every visit. | 12 months |
| picksiq_csrf | PicksIQ | Protects forms (login, bet placement, account changes) from cross-site request forgery attacks. | Session |
| ph_* (localStorage, not a cookie) | PicksIQ (via PostHog) | Anonymous tracking ID stored in your browser so we can count unique visitors and measure where users drop off in the signup flow. No personal data is stored against this ID. We do not share PostHog data with third parties for advertising. | 12 months (cleared on browser data clear) |
Marketing and advertising cookies
These cookies are only loaded if you choose 'Accept all' in our cookie banner. If you choose 'Reject non-essential', our Google AdSense script does not run and no advertising cookies are set.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Various (IDE, NID, __gads, __gpi, _gcl_*) | Google AdSense | If ads are enabled and you consent, Google uses these to serve relevant ads, measure performance, and detect fraud. | Up to 2 years |
Managing your preferences
You can change your mind at any time. Three ways to manage cookies on PicksIQ.
- Clear the
picksiq_consentcookie in your browser and reload the page. The cookie banner will reappear and you can make a fresh choice. - Use your browser settings to block third-party cookies entirely, or to clear all cookies for picksiq.com.
- Visit adssettings.google.com to manage how Google personalises ads across all sites, not just PicksIQ.
Do Not Track signals
Browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal indicating you do not want to be tracked. There is no agreed industry standard for what DNT means and we treat it the same way we treat an unset consent: we do not load any optional cookies until you actively accept them. If you have already accepted via our banner and then enable DNT, you can revoke consent by clearing the consent cookie as described above.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove cookies, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date refreshed. For substantial changes (for example, adding a new analytics provider) we will show the cookie banner again so you can review your choice.
